Climate change is a big problem in our world today and it’s creating problems for our world’s engineers. It has changed the way engineers design, implement, and resources.
With the change in temperatures, sea levels and the frequency and unpredictability of extreme weather; causing damage to our engineering infrastructure, we need to make sure that engineers are well-versed in the topic of community resilience.
Community Resilience is defined as the ability of a community to plan, prepare, execute, and recover from events. In this study we will highlight how our current engineering infrastructure is behind when it comes to this.
We will cover tragic events that have hit cities and their ability to recover; both successful and unsuccessful.
