With the advancements in Terahertz technologies and its advantages in the compactness and large bandwidth of its satellites, there comes a need to combat the high propagation losses, as well as to be able to perform neighbor discovery between satellites in a network without compromising high-gain transmission.
To this end, we are in the process of constructing a two-stage compact origami horn antenna. This will consist of a low-gain, wide-range stage that we will use for neighbor discovery, and a high-gain, directional stage that will be used for precise, specific communication between individual units in a swarm.
